Question. Why make a thinly veiled political advertisement (favoring one side) when the intent is to sell deer hunting equipment to all who hunt deer?

Question. Who would be more likely to go deer hunting—Don Trump or Joe Biden?

By using the words, “Here we are free” and “Here it’s your season,” Bass Pro Shops seems to suggest that you may be in some form of bondage at present and that things are not going your way.

Let’s say this customer insight is true, and that hunters of deer are trapped in corporate pens by day and when they get home, they’re locked to a multitude of screens. Is this the person you want to load up on ammo, camouflage, knives, guns, and so on?

I am asking about what motivates people to hunt.

I am answering that it’s not so they can virtue signal. The hunters I know are serious people with loaded guns and a family to feed. Serious hunters have immense respect for the animal and the rituals of hunting, which include walking the fields, sitting in blinds, working with dogs, marksmanship, gun safety, and the cleaning and processing of the game.

The commercial does highlight the bond between father and daughter. That is good.
