Nationally televised games in the current season averaged only 15.1 million viewers, down from 16.6 million last season.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In related news, the politicization of football this season may hurt Super Bowl LII viewership, according to two new surveys commissioned by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2018\/01\/18\/football-protests-could-hurt-super-bowl-lii-viewership.html\">CNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Just over half of U.S. adults plan to watch the big game this year, according to a survey conducted this week by Fluent, a data-driven marketing firm. Of those surveyed, 44 percent of those who identified themselves as &#8220;huge football fans&#8221; agreed with Trump, saying they disapproved of NFL players protesting during the game.
