Sadly, it&#8217;s not a reality for most, as the ads they make and run fall into either the direct marketing (or drive-to-retail) camp or the brand camp.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.duluthtrading.com\">Duluth Trading Company<\/a> rises above the din of ad noise with its long-running animated ad campaign that perfectly illustrates the classic Feature\/Benefit structure. This work from <a href=\"https:\/\/planetpropaganda.com\/\">Planet in Madison, WI<\/a> is as straightforward as it gets. It&#8217;s also highly irreverent and funny, therefore imminently watchable.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OccneiqsOFo?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Normally, I&#8217;d hear a term like &#8220;Limberjack&#8221; and think it&#8217;s hokey. In this context, it makes sense to go there.<\/p>\n<p>Given how long it&#8217;s been since you hugged anyone, this next commercial might help reintroduce you to the concept.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PUa40FpGLhc?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The clothes under your clothes have to be soft, or you will go through the day chafed. A man who is chafed is a man not at his best. But what about shoppers who don&#8217;t relate? Duluth makes clothes for women. To market these clothes, a different advertising approach is needed.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PPs9ip66o8k?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Note how women in the spot above are all incredibly industrious. The common thread is blue-collar. Duluth Trading isn&#8217;t for pansies. It&#8217;s not for people who are easily offended. Duluth is for people who sweat on the job, for people who make things and fix things.<\/p>\n<h2>Two Jobs on <em>This<\/em> Planet (Go Get &#8217;em)<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/planetpropaganda.com\/careers\">Planet is now hiring<\/a> a Senior Art Director and a Group Creative Director, according to their website.<\/p>\n<p>For what it&#8217;s worth, I&#8217;ve been to Madison several times.
